Basic health and safety steps when using a computer
· Adjust chair to a level were it is comfortable for you and you do not get back pains.
· Make sure the lighting is at an appropriate level so that it does not strain your eyes while you are working.
· Wires – make sure that there are not loose wires lying about for people to trip on a hurt the selves.
· Make sure that you take regular breaks so that you do not strain yourself out.
· Any kind of bag that is kept on the floor should be kept in an appropriate place so that fellow students are teachers do not trip and wreck the show.
· Students are not allowed to bring any kind of drink into the class because the drink could spill and that will destroy the computer if it falls onto the keyboard.
Health and safety steps when connecting peripherals –
Printer, speakers, scanner, microphone
Printer
Be careful when you are connecting a printer for the first time make sure you turn off all the plugs and connect it properly so that it works properly. When you are done you can test the printer by printing out a page with colours on it
Speakers
Be careful when you are connecting speakers that you connect them when everything is turned off because if the volume is up full and you dont even know, it could blow the speakers. When you have done this you can test the speakers by playing a music video on youtube and see if thet are working
Scanner
Be careful when you are connecting a scanner that you do not damage the screen by dropping it and also make sure that you take care when plugging it in.
Microphone
Be careful when you are connecting a microphone because you could damage the piece that you talk into also take care when you are plugging it into the the computer but some of these microphones could have bluetooth.
